Abstract

This study investigates key determinants of product and process innovation in Austria using World Bank BEEPS datasets, focusing on managerial, organizational, and technological factors. The empirical analysis reveals that innovation is strongly shaped by structural capabilities and strategic choices, with firm size, sector, organizational characteristics, R&D expenditures, technology licensing, human capital, energy management systems, and top manager experience significantly influencing innovation outcomes, while top manager gender and firm age show nuanced effects.
